The Tools & Accessories category within PotteryCrafts brings together the essential supporting products that help you get the most from your pottery and ceramic work. Whether you're a seasoned potter or exploring clay crafting for the first time, you'll find practical items designed to support your creative practice.
In this collection, you'll discover products like kiln cement and battwash—the kinds of specialist materials that keep your kiln in good working order and protect your pieces during firing. Kiln cement helps seal and maintain your kiln structure, whilst battwash creates a protective barrier on kiln shelves and stilts, preventing glaze from sticking and making cleanup easier. These are the behind-the-scenes essentials that make a real difference to your results and the longevity of your equipment.
When selecting these products, consider the size of your kiln and how frequently you fire—this will help you choose quantities that suit your workflow. It's worth keeping these items on hand, as they're far easier to apply and maintain regularly than to tackle problems after they've built up.
