Americana Acrylic Transparent paints from DecoArt are perfect for card makers, stampers and scrapbookers who want to add colour with a see-through finish. These versatile acrylics let light pass through, creating beautiful layering effects and dimensional details on your projects.
This category contains seven transparent acrylic colours in 2oz bottles, ranging from vibrant yellows like Lemon Yellow and Cadmium Yellow, through warm oranges such as Tangerine and Cadmium Orange, to deeper jewel tones including Navy Blue, Cranberry Wine and Dioxazine Purple. Crafters use transparent acrylics to paint details on cardstock, add colour to vellum overlays, create glazes over stamped images, or paint embellishments like wooden shapes and tags.
When working with transparent acrylics, remember that layering is your friend—build up colour gradually to achieve the depth you want whilst maintaining that lovely see-through quality. These paints work beautifully on porous surfaces like cardstock and wood, and you can thin them with water for lighter washes or keep them at full strength for bolder coverage.
