Black Card Clock with Gold Embossing

Stamp the same clock design onto black card stock and heat emboss with gold powder for a dramatic, high-contrast effect. This variation shows how the same stamp creates a completely different look on a darker base.

Step by step

1. Take a piece of black card stock and place it on your work surface. ▶ watch 16:50
2. Ink up the clock stamp using a sticky gold ink pad with full coverage. ▶ watch 17:00
3. Stamp the clock design firmly onto the black card, pressing down evenly. ▶ watch 17:15
4. Use an anti-static bag to prepare the surface and prevent powder scatter. ▶ watch 17:30
5. Sprinkle gold embossing powder generously over the stamped image. ▶ watch 17:45
6. Brush away excess powder with the anti-static bag. ▶ watch 18:00
7. Heat set the powder with a heat gun until the embossing is fully melted and shiny. ▶ watch 18:15
8. Allow to cool before using the die to cut out the clock shape from the card. ▶ watch 18:30

Tips from the show

• Black card creates a striking contrast with gold embossing for a more dramatic effect.
• Always wait a moment after heat embossing before running the card through your die-cutting machine.
