You Are So Lovely Shaker Card with Woodland Scene

Create a dynamic shaker card featuring a woodland aperture die with a tree silhouette, filled with glitter and embellishments. The card combines a vellum layer with fussy-cut woodland animals and foliage to create depth and movement behind the shaped window.

Step by step

  1. Cut the aperture die into white card stock using your die cutting machine, creating a shaped window with tree and woodland details. ▶ watch 23:00
  2. Cut a second matching aperture shape to use as the back layer of your shaker card. ▶ watch 23:30
  3. Select a piece of patterned paper from the bundle and cut it to fit behind the aperture, choosing a design with a house or woodland scene. ▶ watch 28:00
  4. Glue the patterned paper piece to the back of the front aperture layer using a glue stick. ▶ watch 33:00
  5. Build a frame of foam pads around the entire back edge of the aperture, ensuring they connect all the way around to create a sealed shaker chamber. ▶ watch 38:15
  6. Pour colourless glitter into the shaker chamber, filling it partially so the contents can move freely. ▶ watch 41:00
  7. Seal the shaker by pressing the second cut aperture piece firmly onto the foam pad frame, creating a sandwich structure. ▶ watch 44:00
  8. Add a decorative border strip of vellum or patterned paper around the edges to frame the shaker card. ▶ watch 44:15
