Embossed Rose Card with Wax Highlight

Emboss a detailed rose design with surrounding words, then add gilding wax to the raised areas to create a luxurious, dimensional card with metallic accents.

Step by step

1. Cut your white card stock and run it through your embossing machine with the rose embossing folder. ▶ watch 38:00
2. Stamp the rose stamp onto the embossed card using black pigment ink, pressing firmly to capture detail in all the grooves. ▶ watch 40:15
3. Apply gilding wax to the raised areas of the embossed design, working it into the dimensional parts of the rose and words. ▶ watch 49:45
4. Allow the wax to dry, which happens almost instantly. ▶ watch 50:30
5. Optionally, swipe a black ink pad over the waxed areas to add definition and make the words stand out. ▶ watch 51:00

Tips from the show

• Gilding waxes dry almost instantly, so work quickly.
• You can use the embossing folder on its own without stamping if you prefer a simpler design.
• The versatility of these embossing folders means you can team them up with different card stocks, metallics, and techniques to make each card unique.
