Embossed Tree Card with Black and White Ink Technique

Run an embossing folder through your machine to create a detailed tree design with cascading words, then stamp and blend black and white inks to create a striking monochrome card with soft, distressed edges.

Step by step

  1. Cut your card stock to size and run it through your embossing machine with the tree embossing folder to create the raised design. ▶ watch 36:30
  2. Ink up the tree stamp with black pigment ink and stamp it onto the embossed card, pressing firmly to capture all the detail. ▶ watch 40:30
  3. Run the embossed card through your machine again with black card stock to create a black background layer. ▶ watch 46:00
  4. Swipe the white ink pad across the black embossed card to highlight the words and tree design. ▶ watch 55:45
  5. Use your finger or a blending brush to soften any harsh lines where the white ink meets the black, creating a gentle distressed effect. ▶ watch 57:00
  6. Go back over the white areas with the white ink pad to reinforce the words and design details. ▶ watch 58:00
