Watercolour Hair Stamp Card with Alcohol Markers

A card using the large watercolour hair stamp set with alcohol markers to add colour and dimension. The stamp features a cascading floral design that can be coloured to create a hand-painted bouquet effect in the hair.

Step by step

1. Stamp the large hair design onto the 'All Surfaces' paper pad using black ink. ▶ watch 37:45
2. Select three shades of brown alcohol markers to colour the hair area. ▶ watch 38:00
3. Colour the hair with the markers, using lighter and darker shades to create dimension. ▶ watch 38:15
4. Spray the coloured hair area lightly with water to create a watercolour effect. ▶ watch 38:30
5. Stamp the dark floral portion of the stamp into the wet coloured area to create a hand-painted bouquet effect. ▶ watch 38:45
6. Allow the card to dry completely. ▶ watch 39:00
7. Mount the stamped design onto a card blank if desired. ▶ watch 39:15
8. Add a sentiment stamp or stamped tag to complete the card. ▶ watch 39:30

Tips from the show

• The 'All Surfaces' paper pad has a hammered metal appearance that looks like slate or satin when stamped.
• You do not have to use the watercolour technique; you can use the stamp as a regular stamp with alcohol markers alone.
• The stamp set includes lovely sentiments that you can use on tags or directly on the card.
