A more advanced card design using cut topper elements arranged as a border, with layered flowers and stamped sentiment tags. This project shows how to repurpose kit elements in creative ways to hide construction and create visual impact.

Step by step

Select a card blank from the kit. ▶ watch 44:30
Take a topper element and cut it in half straight down the middle with a cutter. ▶ watch 44:45
Apply foam pads to the back of the half topper. ▶ watch 45:00
Adhere the half topper to the bottom of the card blank to create a panel effect. ▶ watch 45:15
Select additional topper or banner elements from the kit. ▶ watch 45:30
Apply foam pads and position these elements to create a border around the central area. ▶ watch 45:45
Select flower embellishments and apply foam pads to the back of each. ▶ watch 46:00
Layer and position the flowers in the centre to hide the construction and create focal interest. ▶ watch 46:15
Stamp a sentiment onto a tag from the kit using the provided ink pad. ▶ watch 46:30
Tuck the stamped tag into or behind the flower arrangement. ▶ watch 46:45
Add sparkle or glitter glue to selected elements if desired for extra embellishment. ▶ watch 47:00
Prepare the coordinating envelope by applying a rub-on design and burnishing it in place. ▶ watch 47:15

Tips from the show

Cut toppers in half to stretch your supplies and create different design variations.
Use flowers and embellishments to hide the joins and construction of your border panels.
You can use the other half of a cut topper on a different card to avoid waste.
