Francesca Layered Frame Card with Patterned Dress

Create an elegant card featuring the Francesca lady stamp with a layered frame background and a patterned paper dress. This project shows how to use patterned paper to add colour and texture to the dress without hand-colouring.

Step by step

1. Stamp the Francesca lady onto white cardstock using black ink and fussy-cut around the outline. ▶ watch 23:45
2. Stamp the same lady image onto patterned paper that resembles sparkle or texture. ▶ watch 24:00
3. Fussy-cut away the dress from the patterned paper, leaving the dress shape intact. ▶ watch 24:15
4. Fussy-cut away the arms and hair from the patterned paper piece. ▶ watch 24:30
5. Layer the white stamped lady on top of the patterned paper dress piece to create a composite image. ▶ watch 24:45
6. Adhere the layered lady onto your card base with the dimensional frame already in place. ▶ watch 25:00

Tips from the show

• You don't need to colour a single thing when using patterned paper for the dress.
• You can cut multiple dress versions from different patterned papers and layer them for variety.
• This technique is similar to paper dolls from magazines, allowing creative mixing and matching of dress patterns.
