Shaped Card with Francesca Layered Frame

Create a beautiful shaped card using the Francesca stamp and die set with a four-layer stencil system to build a stunning 3D frame. The card features an elegant dress silhouette with a dimensional layered frame that creates depth and visual interest.

Step by step

1. Cut out two identical shaped card pieces using the outline die, running white cardstock through your die-cutting machine twice. ▶ watch 13:30
2. Score a line across one of the cut pieces to create a hinge for the shaped card. ▶ watch 14:00
3. Tape the two pieces together along the score line using double-sided tape on the hinge area. ▶ watch 14:15
4. Fold the card gently to create the shaped three-dimensional effect. ▶ watch 14:30
5. Apply the first stencil layer (numbered 1) to white cardstock and ink through with yellow using a brush. ▶ watch 15:00
6. Line up the heart registration marks and apply the second stencil layer with orange ink. ▶ watch 15:15
7. Continue with stencil layers 3 and 4, changing ink colours to green and darker green to build the dimensional frame. ▶ watch 15:30

Tips from the show

• Line up the hearts in the corner of each stencil layer to ensure perfect registration every time.
• You can use the same ink colour and press harder if you only have a couple of ink pads available.
• Don't worry about perfect coverage; the layering system will look after itself.
