Sympathy Cross Embossed Card

Emboss the beautiful cross design from the Sympathy 3D embossing folder onto pearl cardstock to create an elegant, versatile card. The cross works for sympathy, christenings, Easter and Christmas occasions, and can be layered with other elements for added dimension.

Step by step

1. Select a piece of pearl cardstock. ▶ watch 28:15
2. Place the cardstock into the Sympathy 3D embossing folder. ▶ watch 28:30
3. Run the cardstock through your die-cutting machine to emboss the cross design. ▶ watch 28:45
4. Remove the embossed card and examine the dimensional cross detail on both sides. ▶ watch 29:00
5. Optionally add a white halo around the cross using an aperture or mask technique. ▶ watch 29:30
6. Layer the embossed cross onto coloured cardstock layers (black, pink, white) to create depth. ▶ watch 30:00
7. Add a sentiment or floral element to offset the cross if desired. ▶ watch 30:30

Tips from the show

• The cross does not have to be used only for sympathy; it works beautifully for Christmas if you colour it poinsettia-style.
• The debossed side is equally beautiful and can be used as an alternative design.
• You can hide the cross and use it as background detail by layering other embellishments over it.
