Halloween Sentiment Card with Patterned Background

Create a spooky Halloween card using the cat and dog stamp set with a patterned paper background. The hand-painted appearance of the paper makes the card look professionally designed.

Step by step

1. Stamp the cat and dog images from the stamp set onto white cardstock using black ink. ▶ watch 32:00
2. Carefully cut out the stamped cat and dog images with scissors. ▶ watch 33:45
3. Paint the eyes of the cat and dog using a watercolour pen or ink pad in your chosen colour. ▶ watch 34:30
4. Add a white gel pen highlight to each eye to create dimension and shine. ▶ watch 35:15
5. Stamp the Halloween sentiment 'Join us if you dare for a Halloween scare' onto white cardstock using black ink. ▶ watch 36:00
6. Cut out the sentiment with scissors. ▶ watch 36:45
7. Cut a piece of patterned Halloween paper to A2 card size (approximately 5 by 7 inches). ▶ watch 37:00
8. Glue the patterned paper onto a black card base. ▶ watch 37:30
9. Glue the cut-out cat and dog images onto the card, positioning them as if they are looking out or hiding. ▶ watch 38:00
10. Glue the sentiment onto the card above or beside the animals. ▶ watch 39:00

Tips from the show

• Stamps by Me stamps do not need to be coloured; black and white stamped images look absolutely stunning on their own.
• You can add as much or as little colour as you wish to the stamped images.
• The patterned paper background makes the card look hand-painted even though it is a pre-printed design.
