Heat Embossed Bat Silhouette Card with Blended Moon

A project from our live show CREATE AND CRAFT TV - Join Toni for her brand new launch show 2 - broadcast 13th Sept 23 · 13/09/2023 · watch it from 0:00

Create a Halloween-themed card by heat embossing a bat stamp in forest green and gold powder, then blend a multicoloured moon using ink and stencils to create a moody, layered scene with depth and texture.

Step by step

  1. Prepare your card stock with an anti-static bag to remove any marks from previous stamping. ▶ watch 0:30
  2. Apply sticky ink to your bat stamp and stamp it twice onto the card to capture all the detail. ▶ watch 0:45
  3. Dust the stamped image with forest green and gold embossing powder, ensuring full coverage. ▶ watch 2:30
  4. Heat set the embossed image with a heat gun to activate the powder and reveal the gold shimmer. ▶ watch 3:45
  5. Use a circular stencil to create a moon in the centre of the card, blending yellow ink first across the stencil. ▶ watch 5:30
  6. Add orange ink to the stencil, tapping it off first to avoid too much colour, and blend it into the yellow. ▶ watch 6:00
  7. Add a touch of pink or red ink to create a gradient effect, working from the stencil onto the paper rather than directly. ▶ watch 7:15
  8. Create a blue sky by dragging ink off the stencil slowly to avoid harsh lines, covering the moon area. ▶ watch 8:00
