Embossed Gown Card with Floral Details

Elevate your lamination gown card by running it through an embossing folder to add dimensional floral details. Then ink up the embossed flowers to bring them to the foreground, creating a layered, textured effect.

Step by step

1. Complete your lamination gown card with both solid and detailed portions stamped. ▶ watch 47:15
2. Select an embossing folder with floral or complementary design (e.g. Wild and Beautiful). ▶ watch 47:30
3. Feed the gown card through your embossing machine with the embossing folder to create raised detail. ▶ watch 47:45
4. Ink up the embossed flowers using a coordinating ink pad colour. ▶ watch 48:15
5. Tap off excess ink from the pad before applying to avoid over-inking. ▶ watch 48:45
6. Apply ink to the raised embossed areas to bring the floral details to the foreground. ▶ watch 49:00
7. Add additional colours to the embossed flowers if desired (e.g. green leaves alongside pink flowers). ▶ watch 49:30
8. Mount the finished card onto card stock or frame for display. ▶ watch 50:30

Tips from the show

• Place something underneath the card when embossing to avoid creating a line across the design.
• You can add multiple colours to the embossed flowers to create more visual interest.
• The embossing folder can be used independently of the lamination – you don't have to use them together.
