Complete Quattro D Hibiscus Card with Stamp, Die Cut and 3D Embossing

Create a fully dimensional hibiscus card using all four components of the Quattro D system: stencil colouring, stamp, die cut, and 3D embossing folder. This demonstrates the complete Quattro D process to achieve a professional, shop-bought appearance.

Step by step

1. Prepare your Carta watercolour paper base and apply stencil colours one through six as previously demonstrated. ▶ watch 48:30
2. Stamp the hibiscus image onto your coloured card using black ink, stamping twice to ensure dark, clear detail. ▶ watch 52:00
3. Set up your die cutting machine with the thick white plate (A) and the B plate for die cutting. ▶ watch 54:00
4. Place your stamped and stencilled hibiscus card into the die cutting machine and run it through to cut out the flower shape. ▶ watch 58:00
5. Switch to the A and B plates for embossing (remove the C plate used for die cutting). ▶ watch 59:00
6. Line up the 3D embossing folder with your die-cut hibiscus piece, matching the design carefully. ▶ watch 1:02:00
7. Close the embossing folder securely so the piece does not move during processing. ▶ watch 1:02:45
8. Position your artwork on the mat, moving it down slightly from the top edge to allow the machine to grip it properly. ▶ watch 1:03:00
9. Run the embossing folder and card through the die cutting machine to create dimensional detail on the hibiscus. ▶ watch 1:03:30
10. Remove your finished embossed hibiscus and admire the three-dimensional detail created by the embossing folder. ▶ watch 1:04:30

Tips from the show

• On a brand new machine, you may need to push firmly on the first embossing folder run as the machine needs to be broken in.
• Always position artwork slightly down from the top edge of the plate so the machine can grip and feed it through.
• The embossing folder detail is visible on the back of the card, showing the full dimensional effect.
