Reflection Stamp Card with Evergreen Paper and Gold Embossed Sentiment

Create a layered card featuring the Reflection stamp with three ladies, using the new Evergreen all surfaces paper. The design showcases the built-in reflection technique with black and white inking, finished with a gold embossed sentiment circle and white gel pen detailing for an elegant, sophisticated look.

Step by step

1. Cut a black layer and a patterned layer from your papers using a guillotine to create thin borders. ▶ watch 15:30
2. Ink the entire Reflection stamp with black ink pad, pressing firmly to get good coverage. ▶ watch 19:30
3. Stamp the ladies onto your patterned paper, positioning them off-centre on the card. ▶ watch 20:00
4. Re-ink just the top portion of the stamp with black ink to create a darker shadow effect on the ladies. ▶ watch 21:30
5. Stamp again over the same area to build up the darkness at the top of the image. ▶ watch 22:00
6. Punch a black circle using the 1 inch circle punch and stamp 'So Sweet' sentiment onto it with black ink. ▶ watch 23:00
7. Apply embossing powder to the stamped sentiment and heat with a heat gun until it melts and sets. ▶ watch 24:00
8. Draw a white gel pen line around the embossed sentiment circle to add definition and break up the design. ▶ watch 27:00
9. Add a small white ink pad impression as a halo around the ladies to create depth and highlight the image. ▶ watch 28:00
10. Adhere the black and patterned layers to your white card base, then attach the embossed sentiment circle with adhesive pads. ▶ watch 30:00

Tips from the show

• Use your antistatic bag when embossing to avoid excess powder specks on your card.
• The uncoated all surfaces paper is porous, allowing you to build up colour with multiple stamp impressions for darker effects.
• White gel pen dries slightly lighter than it appears when wet, so don't worry if it looks too dark initially.
