Stencilled Hydrangea Card with Glitter Paste Highlights

Elevate your layered stencil work by adding sparkly glitter paste to the final layer. This technique creates an iridescent shimmer effect that adds luxury and dimension to your floral design.

Step by step

1. Complete stencils one through four using your chosen ink colours as described in the previous project. ▶ watch 23:15
2. Squeeze a small amount of iridescent glitter paste onto a palette or spare surface. ▶ watch 23:45
3. Hold stencil number five in place on your card and push the glitter paste through using a spatula or brush. ▶ watch 24:00
4. Allow the glitter paste to dry for five to six minutes before removing the stencil to prevent smudging. ▶ watch 24:15
5. Rinse the stencil under running water to remove the glitter paste residue. ▶ watch 24:30
6. Reveal your finished sparkly layer and continue with die-cutting and assembly as in the previous project. ▶ watch 24:45

Tips from the show

• Leave five to six minutes between each glitter paste layer to allow proper drying before applying the next stencil.
• If you clean the stencil between layers, you can use iridescent paste on the final layer for a clear sparkle effect.
