Magnolia Garden Quattrad Layered Card

A stunning four-stage layered card using the Magnolia Garden Quattrad system. You build dimension through stencilling, stamping, die-cutting and 3D embossing to create a beautiful floral design with raised detail and a decorative shamfered edge.

Step by step

  1. Arrange the four numbered stencils in order and place the first stencil (number one) on your 6x6 white card blank, aligning it carefully. ▶ watch 35:15
  2. Apply colour to the stencil using brushes and ink pads, working with multiple colours for the flowers (yellow, orange, pink) and teal for the leaves. ▶ watch 36:30
  3. Remove the first stencil and position the second stencil (number two) over the coloured area, then apply blue to the leaves and repeat the flower colours. ▶ watch 40:45
  4. Place the third stencil (number three) which adds texture, leaves and stalks to the background, applying colour lightly to preserve detail. ▶ watch 43:15
  5. Position the magnolia stamp on top of your stencilled design and stamp twice using black ink to create deep, detailed impressions. ▶ watch 46:00
  6. Trim the stamped design to a smaller size, then align it with the die and run through your die-cutting machine to cut out the magnolia shape. ▶ watch 50:30
  7. Place the die-cut design into the embossing folder with the shamfered edge, then run through your machine to create 3D raised detail. ▶ watch 52:30
  8. Apply Stella paste gently to the fourth stencil area on the embossed card, working carefully around the raised details to add final texture. ▶ watch 54:30
  9. Trim the finished card to your desired size and mount on a white card base or add acetate backing for a shaker window effect if desired. ▶ watch 1:00:15
