Embossed Rose Card with Gilding Wax Accents

Create a striking card by embossing a rose design onto black card stock, then highlight the raised details with multiple colours of gilding wax. The layered metallic finishes create an elegant, dimensional effect perfect for special occasions.

Step by step

1. Place black card stock into your embossing machine with the rose embossing folder. ▶ watch 29:30
2. Run the card through the machine to create a raised embossed rose design. ▶ watch 29:45
3. Open a pot of antique pink gilding wax and dab your finger into it lightly. ▶ watch 34:30
4. Gently tap and swipe the wax over the embossed rose petals using your ring finger. ▶ watch 34:45
5. Select a green gilding wax and apply it to the leaves of the embossed design. ▶ watch 36:45
6. Blend the pink and green waxes together where they meet for a gradient effect. ▶ watch 37:30
7. Apply pearl gilding wax to the embossed words using light finger taps. ▶ watch 38:00
8. Step back and admire the multi-coloured metallic finish on your embossed card. ▶ watch 39:00

Tips from the show

• You don't need all the colours—start with gold and silver as basics, then add rose gold and copper if you love the effect.
• Use your ring finger or a light tapping motion to apply the wax; don't press too hard.
• The waxes blend beautifully where colours overlap, so you can layer different shades.
