Gnome Character Card with Striped Paper Background

Design a festive card featuring a coloured gnome character set against a creative striped background made from layered paper strips. The combination of pattern papers and glitter cardstock creates visual interest and dimension.

Step by step

  1. Stamp the gnome character onto craft card using black ink. ▶ watch 1:00:15
  2. Colour the gnome with watercolours, adding white to the beard and red to the hat. ▶ watch 1:00:30
  3. Apply sparkly blue embossing powder over the stamped gnome. ▶ watch 1:01:00
  4. Heat set the embossing powder with a heat gun. ▶ watch 1:01:15
  5. Die-cut the coloured gnome using the coordinating die. ▶ watch 1:01:30
  6. Cut the patterned paper into strips in two contrasting tones. ▶ watch 1:07:30
  7. Layer the paper strips over glitter cardstock to create a striped background. ▶ watch 1:07:45
  8. Trim the layered strips to the card size. ▶ watch 1:08:00
  9. Mount the background panel onto a craft card base. ▶ watch 1:08:30
  10. Adhere the die-cut gnome character to the card with foam tape for dimension. ▶ watch 1:09:00
  11. Add a sentiment stamp or die-cut element to complete the card. ▶ watch 1:09:30
