A project from our live show BRAND SHOWCASE - Join Sarah Gray from Funky Fossil - broadcast 8th April · 08/04/2022
A striking card featuring a wave die-cut as the focal point, layered with hand-coloured shibori papers in deep blues and teals. The design uses paper piecing to create depth and includes a delicate floral spray stamped around the circle, creating an elegant oriental-themed card.
Cut two circles from the shibori papers using the solid base die - one in a softer blue and one in a darker, inky blue to create a blended effect.
Spray a piece of blank white card stock with rusty saffron and gold distress spray, then allow it to settle before cutting out small coloured elements for the moon.
Glue the darker blue circle on top of the lighter blue circle to create the layered wave background.
Add the hand-coloured moon element to the top of the wave design using glue.
Use the solid base circle die as a guide and stamp the floral spray around the edges using medieval blue versafine ink, allowing elements to extend off the card edge.
Add enamel dots in decreasing circles around the focal point to draw the eye inward.
Mount the completed design onto a card base.
