Stag with Interchangeable Antlers and Lights Card

Design a festive card featuring a stag die-cut with interchangeable antlers and decorative lights woven through them. This creates a dimensional, luxury sparkly effect that works for both masculine and feminine cards.

Step by step

1. Cut your stag die from craft-coloured card stock. ▶ watch 45:00
2. Prepare the intertwining berries and buds piece, adding small sparkly gems to the little circles along the string. ▶ watch 45:30
3. Create a drop shadow by cutting the stag again from black or gold card stock. ▶ watch 46:00
4. Offset the drop shadow slightly to the right and lower than the main stag piece. ▶ watch 46:30
5. Adhere the drop shadow stag to your card base first. ▶ watch 47:00
6. Layer the craft-coloured stag on top of the drop shadow, ensuring it is centred. ▶ watch 47:30
7. Weave and thread the berries and lights piece through the antlers, securing with small dots of glue if needed. ▶ watch 48:00
8. Add the larger antler pieces on top, using foam pads to create dimension. ▶ watch 48:30
9. Mount the complete stag panel onto your card base using foam pads for added depth. ▶ watch 49:00

Tips from the show

• You do not have to use the larger antlers; the basic stag works beautifully on its own.
• The lights and berries are optional; you can create a clean, simple card without them.
• Double pad the stag if you have already padded the background panel to keep everything level.
