Embossed Stained Glass Window Christmas Card

A cream card featuring an embossed stained glass window design with fussy-cut floral elements from coordinating paper. The design combines dimensional embossing with layered paper elements and metallic accents for an elegant, timeless Christmas card.

Step by step

1. Trim a piece of cream card to fit your A4 die-cutting machine ▶ watch 19:30
2. Run the cream card through the embossing folder using the clear plates on your machine ▶ watch 20:00
3. Select a floral design from the paper pad that complements the embossed window ▶ watch 22:45
4. Fussy-cut around the floral elements using scissors, being careful to preserve the design details ▶ watch 26:00
5. Adhere the fussy-cut florals to the embossed card using glue ▶ watch 27:00
6. Edge the embossed panel with black ink using an ink pad, angling it along the folder to create subtle definition ▶ watch 32:30
7. Mount the embossed and inked panel onto a cream card blank as your base layer ▶ watch 33:15
8. Apply gold blending wax to your finger and gently add metallic accents to select details on the design ▶ watch 35:00
9. Add a sentiment using washi tape, positioning it at the bottom left of the card ▶ watch 36:30
10. Glue a coordinating paper element to the inside of the card to create a finished interior ▶ watch 38:00

Tips from the show

• You can use a brown ink instead of black if you prefer a less intense edge
• The fussy-cut elements don't need to be perfect; focus on the overall effect rather than precision
• Consider using white matting layers if you prefer a cleaner look to the cream tones
