Embossed Acetate with Alcohol Ink and Mirror Mist

Create a stunning modern art piece by embossing acetate with the Scribble It folder, then adding alcohol inks and mirror mist for a graffiti-like effect. The result looks like street art and works beautifully in frames.

Step by step

1. Remove the protective film from both sides of the construction acetate sheet. ▶ watch 29:00
2. Run the acetate through the embossing machine with the Scribble It embossing folder to create a raised pattern. ▶ watch 29:15
3. Apply alcohol inks to the embossed acetate, allowing the colours to blend naturally. ▶ watch 30:15
4. Add watercolour paint if desired, as it adheres well to acetate. ▶ watch 30:45
5. Apply Cadence Mirror Mist over the dried inks to seal and add a reflective, metallic finish. ▶ watch 31:00
6. Layer the finished acetate over black or white card stock to display the design. ▶ watch 31:15

Tips from the show

• The emboss on acetate creates an unreal dimensional effect
• Mirror mist seals the inks and creates a graffiti-like appearance
• You can layer different coloured card behind the acetate to change the overall look
