Simplicity Embossed Shaker Card

A shaker card using the Simplicity embossing folder with its coordinating die. You create a window using the die element, add acetate and embellishments inside, then seal it to make a functional shaker card with beautiful embossed detail around the frame.

You will need

Step by step

1. Insert cardstock into the embossing folder with the die element in place. ▶ watch 2:45
2. Run through your die-cutting machine to emboss and cut the window in one step. ▶ watch 3:00
3. Remove the die element by gently peeling back the tape holding it in place. ▶ watch 3:15
4. Tape the die back in if you wish to reuse it, or leave it out for future use. ▶ watch 3:30
5. Adhere acetate sheet (from the kit) to the back of the embossed card using tape runner. ▶ watch 3:45
6. Add your chosen embellishments such as sequins, glitter, buttons, or other items into the window space. ▶ watch 3:50
7. Seal the shaker by adhering a backing card to complete the shaker element. ▶ watch 3:55

Tips from the show

• The dies are strong enough to work independently if you want to remove them from the embossing folder.
• You can use any embellishments from your stash—sequins, glitter, buttons, coins, tiles, or even shoelaces for children's cards.
• If you don't use the die, you get the beautiful traditional 3D embossing folder with the chamfered frame.
