Aperture Window Card with Fussy-Cut Flower Insert

A card with an aperture window where you insert a fussy-cut flower or embellishment from the topper sheets. Layer additional cut elements on top for dimension and visual interest.

Step by step

1. Prepare a card blank with an aperture window cut into it. ▶ watch 39:30
2. Select a topper sheet and fussy-cut a flower or design element carefully around the edges. ▶ watch 39:45
3. Glue the fussy-cut flower into the aperture window from behind. ▶ watch 40:00
4. Take a second topper and fussy-cut additional elements, removing some leaves or petals for variation. ▶ watch 40:15
5. Apply foam pads to the back of these secondary cut elements. ▶ watch 40:30
6. Layer the padded elements on top of the window flower to create dimension. ▶ watch 40:45
7. Add a sentiment or embellishment to complete the card front. ▶ watch 41:00
8. Fold and seal a coordinating envelope to match. ▶ watch 41:30

Tips from the show

• Aperture cards are perfect for showcasing the beautiful topper designs.
• You can use embossing folders or other embellishments around the window for added interest.
• The toppers work beautifully in aperture windows without requiring additional colouring.
