Stag with Antlers Decoupage Christmas Card

A festive card featuring a layered stag head with separate antler pieces that can be built up for dimension. The design works beautifully on satin gold cardstock and can be enhanced with sparkle and drop shadows for an elegant, high-end look.

Step by step

1. Cut a piece of satin gold cardstock as your card base. ▶ watch 29:00
2. Die cut the stag head from your chosen cardstock using the Christmas Angelic Frame die. ▶ watch 29:15
3. Die cut the antler pieces separately from the same or contrasting cardstock. ▶ watch 29:30
4. Glue the antler pieces behind the stag head to build up the design and create dimension. ▶ watch 29:45
5. Optionally, add a small piece of gold cardstock behind the stag to create a drop shadow effect. ▶ watch 30:00
6. Create a simple landscape background by layering sparkled-edge paper pieces to suggest hills. ▶ watch 30:15
7. Glue the landscape pieces to the base of your card. ▶ watch 30:30
8. Mount the stag and antlers onto the card front, positioning it over the landscape. ▶ watch 30:45
9. Optionally, add white embossed decorative elements or sparkle to the antlers for extra embellishment. ▶ watch 31:00

Tips from the show

• You can keep the design clean and simple or build it up with multiple layers for a more elaborate card.
• The antlers are broken down separately so you can decoupage and build them up if desired.
• Satin finishes give a softer, more elegant look than shiny foil effects.
