Layered 3D Poppy Flower Card

A delicate three-dimensional poppy card created by heat-embossing the poppy stamp in silver or rose gold, then layering multiple die-cut flowers with offset positioning and foam pads to create realistic depth and movement.

Step by step

1. Heat-emboss the poppy stamp onto white cardstock using silver or rose gold embossing powder. ▶ watch 14:45
2. Die-cut the embossed poppy design twice to create two identical flowers. ▶ watch 15:00
3. Place the first poppy die-cut onto your card base. ▶ watch 15:15
4. Attach foam pads to the back of the second poppy die-cut to create height. ▶ watch 15:30
5. Position the second poppy offset on top of the first, slightly twisted to create a 3D effect. ▶ watch 15:45
6. Optionally, add a third poppy layer with additional foam pads for even more dimension. ▶ watch 16:00
7. Mount the layered flower design onto your card base. ▶ watch 16:15
8. Add a sentiment to complete the card. ▶ watch 16:30

Tips from the show

• You can layer the flowers three times if you want to achieve maximum 3D effect.
• Twisting and manipulating the design creates a more realistic, natural appearance.
• You do not need to colour the leaves green; white works beautifully on its own.
