A vibrant 10-minute card using water and ink to create a blended watercolour effect with a stencil star design. The card features layered stamped imagery and creates a dynamic, artistic look with flowing colour.

You will need

Step by step

1. Spray water onto your card base to prepare the surface for wet media. ▶ watch 8:30
2. Apply coloured inks directly onto the wet card, starting with one colour in the centre. ▶ watch 8:45
3. Add pink ink to the middle area and allow the colours to blend naturally with the water. ▶ watch 9:00
4. Use the stencil to create an exploding star design by applying ink through the mask. ▶ watch 9:15
5. Stamp the Rock Gods image onto an acrylic block for dimension. ▶ watch 10:00
6. Allow the card to dry completely before adding any additional elements. ▶ watch 10:30
7. Mat the card onto a contrasting base for a finished look. ▶ watch 16:30

Tips from the show

• The challenge of this technique is ensuring the card dries in time before adding further embellishments.
