Typewriter Washi Tape Sentiment Topper Card

Create a card using die-cut sentiment toppers from a 10-metre washi tape roll. The tape contains over 5,000 pre-printed sentiments that you can die-cut and apply as stickers or layered toppers.

Step by step

1. Unroll your typewriter washi tape and locate the section you want to use. ▶ watch 35:30
2. Position the die over the washi tape, aligning it with your chosen sentiment. ▶ watch 36:00
3. Run the washi tape and die through your die-cutting machine. ▶ watch 36:15
4. Remove the die to reveal the die-cut sentiment stickers. ▶ watch 36:45
5. Peel away the backing from the sentiment sticker to reveal the adhesive. ▶ watch 37:00
6. Apply the sticker onto white card stock for durability and a clean finish. ▶ watch 37:30
7. Burnish the sticker down firmly to secure it in place. ▶ watch 38:00
8. Use the die as a stencil to fussy cut around the sentiment if desired. ▶ watch 38:30
9. Glue the finished sentiment topper onto your card base. ▶ watch 39:00
10. Add additional embellishments such as sequins or sparkle to complete the card. ▶ watch 39:30

Tips from the show

• The washi tape sentiments work as stickers directly from the roll, or you can layer them onto card for more durability.
• If you apply the sticker to coloured card, the black sentiment will show the card colour through it.
• Run the die through the machine one section at a time rather than multiple sections together to avoid damage.
