4x4 Cube Gift Box with No Glue

A sturdy cube-shaped box made from a single piece of card stock using the envelope and box tool. No glue or scissors needed—the box is created entirely through scoring and punching, with a clever interlocking flap system to seal it closed.

Step by step

1. Cut a 12 by 12 piece of card stock. ▶ watch 29:00
2. Align the left edge of your paper to the XL start line on the envelope and box tool. ▶ watch 29:30
3. Press firmly on the punch to create the first punch mark. ▶ watch 30:00
4. Score along lines A, B and C using the score tool, following the marked lines on the board. ▶ watch 30:15
5. Turn the paper 90 degrees and align it back to the XL line. ▶ watch 31:00
6. Punch again at the marked position. ▶ watch 31:15
7. Score the diagonal line at the XL marking. ▶ watch 31:30
8. Repeat the 90-degree turn, punch and score process for all four sides. ▶ watch 32:00
9. Flip the paper over and repeat the punching process on the reverse side. ▶ watch 33:00
10. Score all the fold lines firmly to create clean creases. ▶ watch 33:45
11. Fold up all four sides and interlock the corner flaps together using the built-in punch system to seal the box without glue. ▶ watch 36:00

Tips from the show

• Do not deviate from the instructions on the board—follow each step exactly as marked.
• Score all fold lines firmly to help the box come together neatly.
• Practice on plain paper you don't mind wasting before using your best card stock.
