A project from our live show THE THURSDAY DROP - Latest Products from Toni - Broadcast 30th July 2026 · 30/07/2026 · watch it from 33:15

Create a shaped card using nesting square dies with a watercolour-effect background in purples and pinks, topped with a fussy-cut floral stamp and a gold-embossed sentiment. The result is an elegant card with soft colour gradients and dimensional layering.

Step by step

  1. Cut three pieces from white card stock using the largest nesting square die, then the next size down, and a smaller size for layering. ▶ watch 33:15
  2. Pop out all the small cut-out pieces from the dies using a pokey tool. ▶ watch 34:30
  3. Glue two of the largest die-cut squares together to form your card blank, ensuring the score line is at the back for opening. ▶ watch 40:00
  4. Stamp the floral image onto a piece of cream card stock using black ink. ▶ watch 43:30
  5. Fussy cut around the floral stamp, leaving a small border and holding your scissors at a proud angle so the paper does the motion rather than your wrist. ▶ watch 48:15
  6. Wet the surface of one of your medium-sized die-cut squares with water using a brush. ▶ watch 51:00
  7. Apply teal and pink ink to the wet surface, allowing the colours to blend and run together, then tap the card on an angle to create drips. ▶ watch 55:00
  8. Dry the watercoloured piece and flatten it using a die-cutting machine plate if it has warped. ▶ watch 57:30
  9. Stamp the 'Stay Wild' sentiment onto cream card stock using the sticky WOW ink pad. ▶ watch 1:03:30
  10. Apply gold WOW embossing powder to the stamped sentiment and heat set it with a heat gun. ▶ watch 1:04:30
  11. Die cut the embossed sentiment using the outline die. ▶ watch 1:08:45
  12. Assemble the card by gluing the watercoloured square flat to the card blank, then add foam pads to the back of the medium die-cut square and attach it. ▶ watch 1:11:00
  13. Glue the fussy-cut floral to the top of the card with a small amount of adhesive to allow some dimension, then position the gold sentiment on foam pads. ▶ watch 1:15:00
