Simple Six-by-Six Mini Album with Pockets

A beginner-friendly mini album made from a 6x6 paper pad, featuring scored hinges and decorative pockets. This simple project uses basic folding and gluing techniques to create a personalized memory-keeping album perfect for tickets, photographs and keepsakes.

Step by step

  1. Select five sheets from your 6x6 paper pad, choosing designs you like for the front cover and interior pages. ▶ watch 14:45
  2. Score your first sheet at half an inch on one side using a scoreboard and scoring tool, then fold it over to create the front cover hinge. ▶ watch 19:30
  3. Score a second sheet at half an inch and fold it to create an interior page. ▶ watch 20:00
  4. Score a third sheet at two inches, then glue it onto the back of your front cover to create the first interior page. ▶ watch 20:15
  5. Take another scored sheet and glue it to the back panel to create a pocket for storing items. ▶ watch 22:00
  6. Score a fifth sheet at half an inch to create another hinge for the back cover. ▶ watch 23:15
  7. Glue the back cover hinge onto the back of your album structure. ▶ watch 24:15
  8. If using single-sided paper, cut and glue decorative pattern paper strips to cover the inside panels and hide the plain backs. ▶ watch 26:00
  9. Glue down the pocket edges on the side to secure them in place. ▶ watch 28:00
