Slimline Embossed Card with Ink Pad Technique

Make a slimline card using the All Occasions embossing folder in a smaller format. This project demonstrates how to ink the embossing folder directly with an ink pad and create beautiful detail by working on both the raised and debossed sides.

Step by step

1. Select a piece of DCWV cardstock in a coordinating colour for your slimline card. ▶ watch 41:30
2. Ink the raised side of the All Occasions slimline embossing folder with your chosen ink pad colour. ▶ watch 42:00
3. Use a brush to soften any harsh lines in the inked areas if desired. ▶ watch 42:30
4. Place the inked embossing folder on the pink base plate. ▶ watch 43:00
5. Position your cardstock on top of the folder. ▶ watch 43:15
6. Place a clear plate on top and run through the machine. ▶ watch 43:30
7. Flip the card and ink the debossed side with a complementary colour if desired. ▶ watch 44:00
8. Run through the machine again to transfer the ink from the debossed areas. ▶ watch 44:30

Tips from the show

• You can use a brush to stipple or blend ink onto the embossing folder rather than applying it directly for more control.
• Working on both sides of the embossing folder gives you multiple design options from a single card.
