A charming mini album made from a single 12x12 sheet of decorative paper, featuring interactive pockets, a flip-down page, and embellished with cute animal toppers and coordinating embellishments. Perfect for gifting with photos, gift cards, bookmarks or seeds.

Step by step

1. Place your 12x12 sheet of paper on the scoreboard and score down the centre at the 6-inch mark. ▶ watch 12:45
2. Cut the paper in half along the score line to create two 6x12 pieces. ▶ watch 13:15
3. On the first piece, score at 4 inches and 8 inches to divide it into three sections. ▶ watch 13:30
4. On the second piece, score at half inch, 4.5 inches and 8.5 inches. ▶ watch 14:15
5. Fold the first piece into three sections along the score lines. ▶ watch 15:00
6. Cut a curved arch from the bottom edge of one section freehand with scissors to create a pocket opening. ▶ watch 15:30
7. Glue the side and base edges of the arched section to form a pocket, leaving the top open. ▶ watch 16:45
8. Fold the second piece and glue the hinge strip to connect it as an additional page to your album base. ▶ watch 17:30
9. Punch half circles along the edge of another section using the 2-inch punch to create a decorative pocket. ▶ watch 19:15
10. Glue the bottom edge of the punched section to create a second pocket with a scalloped top. ▶ watch 20:45
11. Cut a coordinating paper panel and glue it to the inside front cover to create a background layer. ▶ watch 23:00
12. Embellish the album pages with cute animal toppers, floral elements and coordinating paper scraps from your stash. ▶ watch 31:45
13. Wrap elastic around the album spine and tie a bow on the front cover for closure and decorative detail. ▶ watch 43:00
14. Add a final decorative scene panel to the front cover with blended ink edges and a cute animal topper. ▶ watch 49:00

Tips from the show

• You can use single-sided or double-sided paper; both work equally well for this project.
• Keep measurements to a bare minimum to avoid complication; the decorating is the fun part.
• Maintain at least a half-inch hinge on any folded elements to ensure they hold securely and don't come apart.
