Step by step

  1. Run the strawberry embossing folder through your machine with white card stock to create an embossed background. ▶ watch 23:30
  2. Stamp the strawberry stamp onto the embossed card using a hybrid ink that won't bleed with alcohol markers. ▶ watch 25:15
  3. Place a piece of scrap card underneath your stamped design to pull the ink through and prevent pooling on hard surfaces. ▶ watch 31:00
  4. Outline the strawberries with a grey alcohol marker to add shadow and make the design pop from the page. ▶ watch 33:45
  5. Apply your lightest red shade (R12) all over the strawberries as your base colour. ▶ watch 37:30
  6. Apply a medium red shade (R13) to add dimension, keeping in mind where your light source is coming from. ▶ watch 38:45
  7. Apply your darkest red shade to the shadowed areas of the strawberries, then blend back over with the light colour to soften harsh lines. ▶ watch 40:15
  8. Colour the strawberry leaves with light green, then add darker green to the shadowed areas and blend together. ▶ watch 41:45
  9. Colour the strawberry flowers with a pale pink or cream shade, adding a small darker spot for dimension. ▶ watch 46:00
  10. Use a white gel pen to bring back lost detail and highlight the light areas of the strawberries and leaves. ▶ watch 48:00
