A project from our live show Brand Showcase in the HTCN studios - FUNKY FOSSIL - broadcast Friday 25th Feb 22 · 25/02/2022
A stunning night sky card featuring a glowing moon created with layered distress oxides and a stencil mask, finished with shimmery paste details and mathematical equation stamps. The technique creates a dreamy, dimensional moonlit effect.
Apply repositionable double-sided tape to the back of your moon stencil circle mask to hold it securely in place on your card.
Apply salvage patina distress oxide around the outer edges of the stencil using a blending brush, working in circular motions.
Layer prize ribbon distress oxide over the salvage patina around the edges to deepen the night sky colour gradually.
Add chipped sapphire distress oxide to the darkest outer edges, building up colour depth as you move inward towards the moon.
Spritz the inked area lightly with water to lift and blend the distress oxides, creating a galaxy or night sky effect.
Allow the card to dry completely, then carefully lift away the stencil mask to reveal the glowing moon.
Stamp the A7 mathematical equation background stamp in chipped sapphire ink over the moon area for added texture and detail.
Apply white ink or embossing powder to one side of the moon to create the illusion of dimension and moonshine.
Apply glitzcraft paste mixed with graphite and silver through the moon stencil to add shimmer and depth to the focal point.
