A project from our live show BRAND SHOWCASE - Join Emma Blake from Thirsty Brush - Broadcast 8th April · 08/04/2022
Create a card by stamping a flower onto a bubble background, then use watercolour and a water brush to add shading and depth to the petals and leaves. The technique creates a hand-painted effect with minimal effort.
Stamp a flower head design onto your bubble background using pigment ink.
Ink up only the flower head portion of the stamp, leaving the stem and leaves uncoloured.
Use a water brush to pull the ink out from the stamped flower, creating a watercolour wash effect.
Add watercolour to the flower petals to create shading and depth.
Use background stamps to add texture and shadow around the flower design.
Add additional stamped elements such as leaves or foliage around the main flower.
Once dry, add white highlights using a white gel pen to make the design pop.
Cut the finished design down to size and mount onto black card to complete the card.
Share your make with the Stamps By Me community - and keep this guide for next time.
