A project from our live show CREATE AND CRAFT LIVE - Join Helen Kirkham - broadcast 8th April - show 1 · 08/04/2022
A vibrant card featuring a detailed poppy stamp coloured with alcohol markers or stencil brushes using soft, layered colour work. The design demonstrates how to add depth and dimension by leaving white space and following the stamp's natural line work.
Ink up the large poppy stamp with multiple colours using a stencil brush, applying darker tones to the petal lines.
Stamp the inked poppy onto white or coloured card using the Eureka stamp press for even, consistent pressure.
Use a stencil brush to add additional colour detail directly onto the stamped image, following the natural lines of the petals.
Leave white space in the centre of the petals to create natural light and shade without additional colouring.
Add darker green tones to the stem and leaf areas using a stencil brush with gentle dabbing motions.
Die-cut the ornate frame from coordinating cardstock and layer it behind the coloured poppy design.
Stamp a sentiment such as 'All you need is love' onto the card using a darker ink colour.
Assemble the card by gluing the coloured poppy piece to the frame backing, using foam pads for dimension.
