Inspirational Tag with Rub-ons and Washi Tape

Tony creates a quick decorative tag using rub-ons as the main focal point, combined with washi tape and stamps. This simple project shows how rub-ons can look identical to stamped images.

Step by step

1. Cut or prepare your tag base from cardstock ▶ watch 29:45
2. Apply washi tape along one edge of the tag as a decorative border ▶ watch 29:50
3. Peel back the rub-on backing sheet to reveal your chosen image or sentiment ▶ watch 30:00
4. Position the rub-on in the centre or focal area of your tag ▶ watch 30:10
5. Use a bone tool to firmly rub over the rub-on, transferring it completely onto the tag ▶ watch 30:15
6. Peel away the backing sheet carefully to reveal the finished rub-on ▶ watch 30:25
7. Add any additional embellishments such as stamps or handwriting if desired ▶ watch 30:35

Tips from the show

• Rub-ons look just like stamped images once applied, with no visible outline like stickers have
• If you miss a small area when rubbing on, you can reposition and rub just that section again
