Notebook Page with Rub-ons and Washi Tape

Teresa demonstrates how to create an inspirational notebook page using rub-ons as the main embellishment, combined with washi tape and handwriting. The page features motivational phrases and decorative elements that tell a personal story.

Step by step

1. Start with a notebook page and decide on your theme or message for the page ▶ watch 12:45
2. Apply rub-ons by peeling back the backing sheet to reveal the image or text ▶ watch 13:00
3. Position the rub-on where you want it on the page, using the backing as a guide ▶ watch 13:15
4. Use a bone tool or similar implement to rub over the rub-on with firm, even pressure to transfer it onto the page ▶ watch 13:30
5. Add washi tape along the edges or as design elements to complement the rub-ons ▶ watch 14:00
6. Write handwritten text or journaling around the rub-ons and washi tape to personalise the page ▶ watch 14:30
7. Layer stamps if desired, mixing them with your handwriting and other embellishments ▶ watch 15:00
8. Step back and review your page, ensuring all elements work together to tell your story ▶ watch 16:00

Tips from the show

• Rub-ons are easier to use than stamps and don't require ink
• You can colour in rub-on images with coloured pencils or markers after applying them
• If you miss a part when applying a rub-on, you can peel it back and reapply the missing section
