Embellished Butterfly with Spray and Heat Embossing

Transform a lightweight butterfly embellishment by spraying it with metallic ink and heat-setting it with embossing powder. This creates a dimensional, shimmering focal point perfect for card toppers.

Step by step

1. Spray a lightweight butterfly embellishment with bronze shimmer spray ink, ensuring good coverage. ▶ watch 27:45
2. Sprinkle WOW embossing powder over the sprayed butterfly whilst the ink is still wet. ▶ watch 28:15
3. Heat the butterfly from underneath with a heat gun to melt the powder and set the colour. ▶ watch 28:45
4. Allow the powder to cool and set completely before handling. ▶ watch 29:15

Tips from the show

• Don't apply embossing powder as thickly as demonstrated; use a lighter hand for better results.
• Sprays work beautifully on embellishments as well as card stock.
