Interior Box Insert with Decorative Pocket

Create a fitted interior box that sits inside your outer cover. This project includes a decorative angled pocket for storing small gifts or embellishments, adding depth and visual interest to your presentation.

Step by step

1. Cut a piece of white cardstock measuring 16cm by 20cm for the interior box base. ▶ watch 1:00:30
2. Place the cardstock into your scoreboard and score at 3cm on all four sides. ▶ watch 1:01:00
3. Make small cuts from each corner to the score line, then remove small triangular pieces from the corners to reduce bulk. ▶ watch 1:02:00
4. Fold up all four sides along the score lines to create the box shape. ▶ watch 1:02:30
5. Glue the folded corner flaps to the exterior sides of the box to secure the structure. ▶ watch 1:03:00
6. Cut a piece of patterned paper measuring 10cm by 14cm to line the base of the interior box. ▶ watch 1:04:00
7. Glue the patterned paper to the bottom of the interior box, creating a finished base. ▶ watch 1:04:30
8. Optionally, create a divider from leftover cardstock by scoring and folding to separate items within the box. ▶ watch 1:05:00

Tips from the show

• Remove corner triangles to reduce bulk and create a neater finish
• Ensure the interior box depth matches your outer box for a flush, professional appearance
