Colourful Hanging Calendar with Stamped Icons

A project from our live show MONDAY MADNESS - Join Simon from AVAGO-INK for his latest products - Broadcast 14th Nov 22 · 14/11/2022 · watch it from 5:45

Create a vibrant wall-hanging calendar featuring stamped sentiment icons and speech bubbles on a dark green textured background. This makes an excellent gift for the new year with bright primary colours and a playful design that's suitable for all crafting abilities.

Step by step

  1. Prepare a chunky board base or layer card together to achieve the thickness you need. Edge the board with black ink to cover any grey edges. ▶ watch 6:00
  2. Apply glue to the board using a brush, spreading it thinly to avoid ripples in the card. ▶ watch 6:30
  3. Adhere a piece of dark green textured card over the glued board, pressing down firmly. ▶ watch 6:45
  4. Run your finger down each edge to create a crease line showing where the card underneath sits, then trim the edges with a craft knife. ▶ watch 7:45
  5. Stamp sentiment images (such as 'have a nice day', 'smile', 'OMG', 'hello') onto bright pink paper using black ink. ▶ watch 8:30
  6. Hand-cut around each stamped image, leaving a slight pink border and not worrying about perfect accuracy. ▶ watch 10:00
  7. Arrange and glue the stamped sentiment pieces onto the green background, allowing some to extend beyond the edges for a playful effect. ▶ watch 12:00
  8. Punch two holes at the top of the finished panel and thread ribbon through from the back, tying a knot on the reverse for a neat finish. ▶ watch 16:30
