Tassel Embellishment Card

Create an elegant card featuring handmade tassels and rolled flowers. This project uses die-cut tassel elements wrapped around a tool to form decorative 3D embellishments that add texture and sophistication to a simple card design.

Step by step

1. Die-cut the tassel fringe pieces from cardstock using the A6 tassel die set. Use a die-cutting machine to cut multiple fringe strips that will form the tassel embellishment. ▶ watch 17:30

   Wrap the die-cut tassel strip around a pokey tool or paintbrush handle to create the tassel shape.

3. 

   Apply a small spot of glue to secure the wrapped thread at the top of the tassel. Hold for a moment, then gently pull out the tassel tool to reveal the formed tassel.

4. 

   Cut a piece of coral patterned paper from the Remember This collection. Adhere it to your white card base using adhesive.

5. Glue the formed tassels to the card, positioning them at varying heights for texture. The tassels feature gold decorative elements at the top. ▶ watch 19:00
6. Add a sentiment tag or label to the front of your card. Position it centrally or to one side as desired, and secure it in place with adhesive. ▶ watch 19:30
7. Trim any excess tassel legs with scissors for a neat finish. ▶ watch 20:00
8. Thread additional embellishments such as twine or string through the tassel loops to add extra texture and a handmade finish to your card. ▶ watch 20:30

Tips from the show

• You can batch-cut multiple tassels at once and assemble them whilst watching television for a therapeutic, repetitive activity.
• Make multiple tassels in different sizes by wrapping around different sized tools for varied visual interest.
