Stamped Handbag Card on Patterned Paper

Create a handbag card by stamping onto patterned paper instead of using the stencil layers. Add sparkle with embossing powder and heat set, then optionally emboss for extra dimension.

Step by step

1. Select a patterned paper with a woody or textured finish as your base. ▶ watch 54:00
2. Ink up the coordinating handbag stamp with sticky embossing ink. ▶ watch 54:15
3. Stamp the handbag design onto the patterned paper, pressing firmly and evenly. ▶ watch 54:30
4. Apply wow embossing powder over the wet stamped image. ▶ watch 55:00
5. Heat set the powder with a heat tool until it melts and becomes shiny. ▶ watch 55:15
6. Die cut the handbag using the coordinating outline die, cutting around the stamped image. ▶ watch 56:00
7. If desired, line up the embellishment in the 3D embossing folder and run through the machine for added dimension. ▶ watch 56:30

Tips from the show

• You can skip the stencil layers entirely and go straight to stamping for a quicker result.
• Patterned paper adds texture and interest without needing to layer stencils.
• You don't have to emboss; a flat stamped and sparkled design looks equally beautiful.
