Glamorous Gown Card with Patterned Paper Technique

Create a coloured gown without using any colouring tools by stamping a lady silhouette on patterned paper, cutting out the gown, and layering it over a frame. Add sparkle and embellishments to complete an elegant card.

Step by step

1. Stamp the Francesca lady silhouette in black ink onto patterned paper that coordinates with your colour scheme. ▶ watch 59:30
2. Carefully cut away the neck and head of the stamped lady, leaving the gown intact. ▶ watch 59:45
3. Adhere the patterned paper gown onto your card base or frame. ▶ watch 1:00:00
4. Stamp the coordinating frame design onto white or cream cardstock using black ink. ▶ watch 1:00:30
5. Add sparkle or embellishments to the frame using glitter, gems or sparkly paste. ▶ watch 1:01:00
6. Layer the stamped frame over the patterned paper gown. ▶ watch 1:01:30
7. Add dimensional embellishments such as stamped flowers around the frame. ▶ watch 1:02:00
8. Position a coordinating bow embellishment in the centre of the floral arrangement. ▶ watch 1:03:00
9. Add greenery elements around the flowers to complete the design. ▶ watch 1:04:00

Tips from the show

• You can achieve a beautifully coloured gown without picking up a pen, pencil or paint by using patterned paper from your stash.
• The frames are beautiful on their own and work with other brands' products as well as the coordinating stamps.
