Alice Stencilled Black Card with Pigment Inks

Create a striking black card using the Alice stencil system with pigment inks in multiple colours. The layered stencil technique builds up a beautiful, multi-coloured design with soft edges that looks like artwork.

Step by step

1. Place the first stencil (numbered 1) on your black card, edging it off to the side for alignment. ▶ watch 22:45
2. Apply pigment ink directly through the stencil using the ink pad, working the colour through the stencil openings. ▶ watch 23:00
3. Remove stencil 1 and position stencil 2, lining it up with the edge of your card. ▶ watch 23:30
4. Apply a second colour of pigment ink through stencil 2. ▶ watch 23:45
5. Position stencil 3 and apply a third colour of pigment ink. ▶ watch 24:00
6. Position stencil 4 and apply a fourth colour to complete the layered design. ▶ watch 24:30
7. Allow the design to dry completely to see the final pigment effect without loss of colour. ▶ watch 28:45

Tips from the show

• You do not need to wait for each layer to dry before applying the next stencil.
• Pigment inks stay wet for longer, allowing you to blend colours beautifully.
• You can add clear embossing powder over the design for extra shine and sparkle.
