Hidden Message Foldout Card

A small card blank with a stamped design positioned on the hinge, fussy cut carefully around the edges while preserving the fold. The card opens to reveal a hidden message or gift card inside, and can be decorated with colour and embellishments.

Step by step

1. Take a small card blank and position it in your stamping area so the hinge sits at the edge. ▶ watch 39:15
2. Stamp the house design so it hangs off the edge of the card blank, with part of the stamp on the hinge. ▶ watch 39:30
3. Using small scissors, carefully fussy cut around the entire stamped design without cutting through the hinge fold. ▶ watch 40:00
4. Colour the fussy-cut design with ink, pencils or paint if desired. ▶ watch 40:30
5. Open the card to reveal the inside, where you can add a gift card, money, a message or a magnet on the back. ▶ watch 41:00

Tips from the show

• Do not cut anywhere near the hinge—cut all the way around the design while keeping the fold intact.
• You can add a magnet to the back so the card sticks to a fridge.
• This creates a gift within a gift when placed inside the larger card or box.
