A project from our live show CATCH UP with the Create Together Club - Inspiration Video 1 for Stamp A NOTE TO SAY - SHOW 25th Oct 21 · 25/10/2021
A vibrant card featuring a multi-layered watercolour background with splat and circle texture stamps, combined with a distressed torn paper element and a hand-painted typewriter focal point. The design uses colour blocking and ink blending to create depth and visual interest.
Take a piece of white cardstock and apply various ink pad colours directly onto it using a glass mat to pick up the colour.
Dry between each layer of colour to build texture and avoid creating a muddy appearance.
Continue adding layers of purple, navy and teal ink to create a rich, textured background.
Stamp the splat texture element from the stamp set onto the background using purple ink.
Stamp the solid circle and textured circle elements onto the background using coordinating colours from your ink pad selection.
Take a piece of white cardstock and spray it with water, then scrunch it up to create a distressed, crumpled texture.
Apply random colours to the scrunched paper using your ink pads.
Blend purple ink around the edges of the torn paper to tie it in with your background colours.
Stamp the typewriter image onto the torn paper using black oxide ink.
Spray the stamped typewriter lightly with water to create a distressed, blurred effect on the words.
Add brown ink blending between the black stamped areas to create depth and soften the contrast.
Cut out the typewriter image and paint it with watercolours to add vintage colour and detail.
Stamp a sentiment onto the torn paper element using black ink.
Assemble the card by layering the coloured background, torn paper element and painted typewriter focal point at an angle rather than straight.
Add foam pads to the typewriter image to create dimension and lift it from the card surface.
